What it's like to be a winemaker

A job where one can combine being outdoors in nature, producing and selling a product, being involved in all processes, and at the same time, having the opportunity to receive many visitors who are interested in one's work. That description is not entirely wrong, and it was the desire for this variety in everyday life that inspired Jakob and led him to engage in the project.

When making wine and working with plants, one never has complete control over what happens. The weather is, of course, a major factor, and it's incredible how often one checks the weather forecast leading up to the harvest to find the perfect time for picking. But even after the harvest, one still needs to work with the grapes to achieve the best possible product from the raw material.

It's these challenges that are exciting, and here one will always continue to develop and learn. Along with all the other tasks one has as a winemaker, one actually has a really exciting and versatile daily life.

Meet Jakob in the short video and hear why he took the leap and chose to become a winemaker.
